I love to read. If there was a 12 step program for readers, I’m sure my family would enroll me.

I am a very eclectic reader. I read sci fi and westerns as a girl. I read every Walter Farley book ever printed. As an adult, I graduated to historical romance, thrillers, and even some true crime. I love the stories where they have a mystery to solve.

Then something happened… at work one day people were talking about True Blood. Come to find out, it is based on a series by Charlaine Harris called the Southern Vampire Mysteries. Of course, most folks call them the Sookie Stackhouse stories. And guess what? That series is based in the area where I live. It was so much fun to read about local landmarks in those books.

Naturally, this was a big hit at work. So I borrowed the books from a co-worker and read the ones she had loaned me in less than a week. I was hooked.

Then, my husband gave me a Kindle for our anniversary. The phrase “Whoa Nellie” comes to mind.

From there, I found the Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega series, by Patricia Briggs.

After I read all those, I read the Midnight Breed by Lara Adrian and the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. I have become a voracious reader of paranormal romance.

Yes, I read Twilight too. My daughter in law and I enjoyed those books and movies together.

My daughter told me about the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward. Yes, I read all that were out at the time. Why did no one ever mention these books to me before?

Then I read the Fever Series by Karen Marie Monning. Wow.

Now my problem was… what to do while waiting for the next book to come out in a series I really enjoyed… so… I began to write my own.

My first paranormal romance, Warlord’s Honor, will be published December 2013. Yes, I know. This year!

I am still an avid reader. I have no plans to stop reading, but now I am also an avid writer.
